Now in recent cruises I showed you guys a Ford 427 Tri-Power. I don't know if it's true that Ford pushed out Tri-Powers on there 427's. Whether or not Mercury had different engines then Ford isn't in my memory bank. But judging by the Tri-Power on here it could be a R-Code in a Super Mercury Marauder. Now, from what I read the R-Code does qualify for the Ford 351 in the 1971 Ford Boss. There's also another R-code for the ford LTD 427 which was a Dual Quad.

Did Ford put a tri-power on there 427's? I'm not sure. I'm still researching it and from what I see the Ford 406 FE block had a Tri-Power in the 60's but nothing on the 427 having a tri-power. But there was one made for the T-bird.

Facts:
The Ford 427 was Introduced in 1963.
The 427 was used in races in the early 60's.
64 427's were sold inside a Mercury model, all full sized models.
In 1965 it went down to 7.
The 427 8V (425 hp) was referred to as the "427 Super Marauder" or "Marauder Super 427". (As shown in this picture.)

In 1963 the Super Marauder 427 did come with a Dual Quad set up as well as the 390-cid Super Marauder set up.
